Marie Curie was a physicist and chemist, most famous for her work in radiation. Also notable are her two Nobel Prizes (one in physics and one in chemistry)! She discovered two new elements, revolutionized our understanding of the atom, and even invented mobile x-ray units for use at the battlefront in WWI.
